Sacred Heart School complies with the policies issued by the Diocese of Joliet Catholic Schools Office in all its curricular matters. Continuous progress exists throughout the school in areas of textbooks and concept continuity. Students have six hours of formal instruction daily. This includes religion, English language arts, reading, social studies, mathematics and science. The core learning materials are constantly updated to keep the curriculum relevant to the child's needs. Fine arts, physical education and computer classes are also conducted. The school has two basic organizational patterns. Grades Pre-School through 5 are considered self-contained. However, within each grade level there are large and small group discussion, flexible scheduling and ability groups. Each grade has limited departmentalization. Grades 6 through 8 are departmentalized and share the resources of several teachers.
