Maureen Nielsen is a part-time junior high teacher and part-time assistant principal in charge of discipline and marketing. Mrs. Nielsen teaches 7th and 8th grade Social Studies and 8th grade Language Arts. Mrs. Nielsen received her undergraduate and law degrees from the University of Illinois. She practiced law before coming to the field of education. An alumna of Sacred Heart School, she felt called to Catholic education and completed a Master’s degree in education from Western Governors University in 2015. Mrs. Nielsen completed her student teaching at Sacred Heart School. She began the volunteer art program at SHS, and served as an instructor in that program, as well as teaching art at St. Alexander School for one year.
